What can you expect from the book The Best Couple Ever by Novoneel Chakraborty?

What is the storyline?
“… it will hit you in the gut by the time you reach the last page.”
It surely does.
But what is it about?
The story involves three couples whose lives are portrayed as flawless on social media. Parallelly there is a person who vows to reveal the true side to their “oh-so-perfect-romantic lives.”
The book is divided into two halves, ie. The Couples and The Best Couple ever. The former throws light on the lives of each couple, whereas the latter decodes the series of incidents that occurred with them in the first half.
Do I recommend this book?
Yes, to the ones who:
a. Enjoy desi-thriller aka Chetan Bhagat type books, where the story is like a movie plot
b. Like easy but quick reads with simple language
c. Want to explore crime-thriller/ fiction for the first time with minimum initial efforts
No, to the ones who:
a. Like plot twists and storylines of Agatha Christie or Jeffery Archer
b. Have already read a good number of fiction books
c. Read some nerve-wracking fiction novels
Why did I choose this book?
Honestly, I did not.
I love to read everything from fiction to mythology and non-fiction to rom-com. My current reads include books on mythology and self-help. Though I enjoy reading these genres, I believe they need exemplary dedication, time, and understanding, unlike fiction, sci-fi, or thriller.
This time I wanted to read a page-turner and asked the second-hand book store wale bhaiya to recommend a thriller by an Indian author. Why? Because I hadn’t read any Indian author fiction book so far. And this is what he gave me.
“Bhaiya, I hope he is not like Chetan Bhagat.”
“Na na, yeh alag hai. Don’t worry madam.”
Woh baat alag hai ki yeh sach nahi nikla :(
