Slow death
A Poem on love, longing, and betrayal.
While gazing at the moonlit sky
All I want to do is cry
For there are no answers to my why
I find it hard to accept the goodbye
Our intimate mornings with adrak wali chai (ginger tea)
Passionate nights of dark secrets, never high
I remember it all so well, I was so shy
Last time you cooked me dinner, yum curry Thai
And the afternoon you told me the biggest ever lie
I swallowed the word & hid my teary salty eye
To see how far you go to let my soul die
A slow death for our love that was meant to multiply
Each day with passing moment it all went dry
Every time you made love to her and graciously denied
Slow death— 2/n of my “I miss him” series.
Each time I feel strongly for the person I admire but haven’t yet met, I include ‘him’ in my forthcoming series of poems. This will be an ode to him and a fun experiment for me as well. Let me know how you all like it.
