As I look back on 2024, I am filled with a mix of gratitude, awe, and introspection. This year has been a tapestry of experiences — some planned, some unexpected — that have woven together to shape my journey in profound ways. Each moment, whether joyous or challenging, has left an indelible mark, teaching me valuable lessons and helping me grow into a better version of myself. I have jotted down some memorable experiences and the lessons they’ve imparted so that each time I look back there is a renewed sense of purpose and wonder and hope that it inspires you to reflect on your journey.

  • Agreed with and walked on God’s plan for me
Location: Taj Lands End, Bandra, Mumbai

Lesson: God’s plan is the best and trust it. I did the same and feel blessed and grateful. It seems like the universe has aligned its way for me and my life goals.

  • Experienced some firsts: Took my 16-year-old sister clubbing, ate sushi for the first time, celebrated a friend’s birthday at midnight, devoured mutton

Lesson: Keep doing many firsts. It gives you a sense of thrill and excitement. All of the above occasions made me feel alive and awesome

  • Witnessed death of a closed one

Lesson: Spend more time with your well-wishers and live without regrets. Death is inevitable and the loss caused by it is permanent. One needs to learn to live with it.

  • Got overworked and overwhelmed

Lesson: Made me value the good days so much more. Understood the importance and need to raise & flag concerns, the significance of task allocation, and the need for better planning and streamlining work.

  • Danced my heart out during Navratri
Location: Falguni Pathak Raas Garba, Borivali, Mumbai

Lesson: What amazes me is how strangers come under a roof to celebrate a holy festival and enjoy their hearts out to the fullest. Dancing made my heart very content and the entire period stood out the most this year. Also, I was fortunate enough to meet some of the most amazing people who had a lasting impact on my life :)

  • I let go
Location: My heart ❤ :)

Lesson: Take time to understand what is needed vs. wanted. Holding on to things, people, and methods that have not worked repeatedly will never do any good. It is okay to do so and it shall not make you less of a good person. It is absolutely necessary to prioritize yourself amid all the daily life struggles.

The experiences of 2024 have taught me that life is a beautiful blend of joy and sorrow, triumphs and trials. It’s in these moments that we find our true strength and resilience. Moving forward, I am determined to carry the lessons learned and the memories cherished into the new year. With an open heart and a forward-thinking mindset, I embrace the possibilities that lie ahead. Here’s to making more unforgettable memories, continuing to grow, and living a life filled with purpose, love, and endless firsts.
