How are you, really?

I bet this question would’ve left you impassive. Why? Because no one would bother to know the real you. Also, since you do not happen to keep a check on yourself.

The fact that often leaves me in awe is, how we invest our being for loved ones and when it comes to nurturing ourself we take a step back!

Being ignorant about selves often stems from the following reasons, according to me :

  1. Being too altruistic : Feeling obliged to care and help others while turning a blind eye to our own good.
  2. Lack of self awareness : Naive people often tend to be unaware of their own perspective and believes. This also includes them who are often deceived judgments of the others.
  3. Circumstances : Unforeseen situations tend to make a person vulnerable and weak resulting in decline of self interest.

Having known your fragility, you can have an upper hand and be more aware of your own persona.

But tadaa! It is always easier said than done.

Myself being an altruistic person, it becomes a task to keep my head straight often. But, given the fact that I am aware of my personality , it gets easier for me to gather myself. Having faced difficulties in keeping myself interest before others (my loved ones) has always affected my state of mind. Getting through it has made me feel like I am on top of the world.

So,

Give it a go. Unraveling yourself would be more thrilling than reading a Sidney Sheldon or Jeffery Archer, I bet.

Me- a twenty year something, found all of these useful while in the journey of exploring identity.

  • SWOT analysis : Technically , this is done to know the whereabouts of a project / plan. We being the project managers of our existence should bring this to practise . Strengths and weakness can be known. Threats here mean our triggers which leave us with a not-so-good state of mind and opportunities mean the opposite ; the actions which give us a sense of joy and satisfaction.
  • Mindfulness : Keeping a tab your thoughts and consequent actions, is it. By doing this, we will be consciously aware of ourselves. There are various techniques that can help us to be mindful. Simply walking barefoot , breathing, meditating are some of them.
  • Interactions : This according to me, makes us feel alive. By having a real time interaction with others, it helps us to know how the the world perceives us and vice versa. Criticism personally can be constructive and destructive- it is our call to to recognize what’s the best for us for our betterment.
  • Spiritual practises : A ritual which gives us an affirmation that a stronger being is there for guiding our ship while sailing through unsteady waters. Attaining peace of mind and body is one of greatest achievements of being a spiritual practitioner.

When you’ve unleashed your true self, I can assure you that I will you’re one of the most beautiful and mysterious being on this planet.
